Lost & FoundTracing everyday lives through snapshots
This piece, a physical and digital archive, is comprised of a selection of photographs Gabrielle found through her perambulations on the streets of New York and several other cities from 1993 to 2003. These ephemeral artifacts are traces of the public culture of the moment in each of these places, snapshots being particularly evocative, and ubiquitous, products of our social interactions.

Yet, in their finding, they also describe one particular physical movement through space; their sites and times of discovery trace my own walks through, and routines in, the urban landscapes of the several cities that Gabrielle has called home. The viewer of this piece is encouraged to find their own way through this public and private archive, exploring the drawers of the physical archive, and the sections of the web archive, in any order they please.
