Power of PerceptionEngaging youth and communities through media
In collaboration with the public art organization the Laundromat Project, and acting as editor, pedagogical advisor and designer, we helped to create a set of two media-action curricula called “Power of Perception” designed to nurture the voices, experiences and creative brilliance of youth and community members through truth-telling and media-making. Each workshop in the curriculum provides students and community members an opportunity to explore how power, perception and self-expression impacts their lives.
“creating a model for communities to engage in arts-based education and dialogue”
Building on the acclaimed documentary “American Promise,” this project developed curricula focused on both youth and in-classroom teaching and while also creating a model for communities to engage in arts-based education and dialogue.
