The LP Growth Deck breaks down skills and staff growth into approachable, tangible practices,
to empower staff development and demystify the process of growth and progress.
No one has the perfect set of skills. Arts and civic fields are made up of people from a wide range of experiences, skills and backgrounds. Without understanding where someone is situated it’s hard to map a course to a new place, and to determine where might be the best fit.
The purpose of Buscada’s Growth services, and the growth frameworks we co-create with our partners, is to act as a catalyst for conversation about individuals’ careers, to help identify their future goals, and to see how groups of people combine to form strong multidisciplinary teams. It also helps people specify the skills in which they particularly want to grow.
When we worked with the Laundromat Project to create a growth framework, we also wanted to co-design clear pathways to help that growth happen. This deck of cards breaks down learning into manageable practices that, if repeated, will help staff members grow.
Each card shows a practice (co-determined with the whole org) that takes 30 minutes; each LP staff member chooses a practice card from the skill(s) in which they want to grow and commits to doing that practice regularly over a period of time. The cards make practice tangible, and approachable, and makes the path to growth less mysterious.
