A flexible strategic plan for a POC-centered organization that advances artists and neighbors as change agents in their communities.
Buscada facilitated a grounded, participatory, and values-driven strategic planning process for The Laundromat Project, a POC-centered organization that advances artists and neighbors as change agents in their own communities. Using our “Working with People” project to spur generative conversations, the first phase of the project included a series of workshops to help the LP define and build shared language around the core values of the organization. The second phase of the process was rooted in the shared notions of community, accountability, and equity the initial phase had helped to articulate.
Through a collaborative process, we worked with the LP’s team to create a foundational framework tool that transforms these values from concepts to action. This framework is now used by the LP to make decisions at every level of the organization — both for the present, and for flexible future planning. The LP’s strategic vision was launched at the Ford Foundation in 2019. Have a look, and think about what it takes to Make Art, Build Community, and Create Change.
